Avocado Key Lime Delicata

See those beauties, sitting in a basket, looking tropical? Those are some fine avocados, and they are $1.55 each (less than some competitors, I checked), and they are organically grown in the far-away country of California. I know they are fantastic because I have been eating the heck out of them this past week--no mealy spots or hidden blemishes in the ones I've had, just creamy, delicious, salad-topping worthy goodness. But below is the real reason I wanted to talk about avocados...

That's right, avocado key lime pie. The picture above is from greencilantro.blogspot.com, but did you know that the Coop makes its very own avocado key lime pie? It's delish--the last time I walked out of here with a slice of it I had it eaten before I walked a whole block. It's creamy, zesty, perfect for these neverending sultry days. Do yourself a favor and pick up a slice the next time you come in. I would have taken a picture of the Coop key lime pie, but alas, it has all been purchased--a testament to its fabulous nature.

And here is a delicata squash attached to Angie's arm. Why? Because it's fused together like zucchinis you sometimes see, and because this freaky vegetable is also on sale at the Coop. All of them aren't special like this one, but I hear they have a beautiful flavor.

Enjoy!
Jen
