There was an entire row of goodness at the Coop tonight, pictured below, that I had to share with the whole wide world. First of all, you may have noticed the abundance of pecans at the Farmer's Market, and we have some unhulled pecans at the Coop from Blue Moon farms for only $2.00 per pound. I have been eating local pecans for weeks and I am amazed at how lovely and buttery they taste--I don't ever wanna go back.

Having just finished part of a sweet dumpling squash I wanted to point out the autumn bounty. Resting angelically next to the pecans we have spaghetti ($1.75/lb.), sweet dumpling ($1.20/lb.), and butternut squashes (squashii? $1.35;/lb.). I've used spaghetti squash as a substitute for pasta with a marvelous sauce made of lamb from the Farmer's Market--yum. And, if your house is freezing cold like mine, you can bake squash and huddle pathetically in front of the oven at the same time! Score!

Happy Days,
Jen
