You go away for a few weeks on winter break and everything changes. Our fearless Monday night manager Lily got promoted to the produce manager position, where she is using her artistic eye to arrange food for our viewing pleasure. You can see the glorious results below, featuring Phyllis, the coop Madonna. Isn't she lovely? Maria, the light of my life and Pindi's bandmate in the lovely quartet Coconut Moon (please go see their Brazilian brilliance immediately), has been promoted to a position in the kitchen. They will be missed by the Monday night crew, and that's the last time I ever go out of town for more than a day or two.

In the meantime, the local produce just keeps on coming. I moved here from Michigan, a land of slush and ice and terrifying snow creatures, so the plethora of greenery available from local farmers does not cease to amaze me. Featured here this week is local broccoli from Veggie Patch farm for $5.95 a pound. I have some of the this loveliness at home and it's been making its way into my stir fries and veggie soups (add it at the end so it doesn't turn to mush).

Also since I've been away we've added a new line of fruit and vegetable juices from Arden's Garden, with flavors like carrot-apple ginger and hotshot.

Hope your New Year was more fabulous than ever before and that all goes well!
Jenners
